Our recipe contest In Search of the Perfect Party Dip contest is off and running, and the recipes are already flowing in! Today’s contest spotlight is shining on Patty Anderson of Fargo, and her family recipe for “Lake Dip.”
I particularly enjoy this recipe for its simplicity, and also because it includes salsa, which is one my most favorite foods. Tony has often joked that I have salsa, instead of blood, running through my veins. In fact, I’m heading to the grocery store right now to pick up these ingredients so I can have Lake Dip for lunch.
Thanks for sharing your recipe, Patty, and GOOD LUCK!
PATTY ANDERSON’S LAKE DIP
This is our totally favorite family dip and everyone who has tasted it requests the recipe. It couldn’t be easier.
This recipe is from my sister-in-law, Gail Tronnes, who got it from her sister-law, Gretchen Tronnes.
2 C shredded cheddar cheese
2 C salsa (we use Pace Picante, half mild and half medium)
2 8 oz pkg. cream cheese
Sliced or chopped black olives to taste (or omit)
Blend and chill. It makes a lot, but that never seems to be a problem. Halve the recipe if you must! Serve with tortilla chips.
UPDATE 12:24 PM: I did go the store, and the dip is now firming up in my fridge.
